It would be really great if this site included more areas of ear training.

Have you read the FAQ? It's not complete, but you may find some clues there.

Or you could try this forum. What's the question?

General:: can't record
Your score is sent to the server after you've completed a test, and things should work AFAIK. Are you aware that you have to have to answer 10 times per test?

There are 25 test types. Each test type has 10 levels of difficulty. On each level you have to answer 10 times before your score is sent to the server, and if your score is better than your previous alltime or weekly hiscore on that level, you should see it in the records.

HTH

Future:: Make Earplane more Linux friendly...
Hi Vittoria,

I have tried to get Linux users to check if this site will work with the crossover plugin by CodeWeavers (www.codeweavers.com), but nobody have answered so far. I'd really appreciate if you could check it out, could you? Unfortunately the plugin costs, but maybe there's some kind of alternative, I don't know.

Future:: Small bug and some ideas
I played the Rhythm game and when playing with 1/1 1/2 1/4 1/8 setting (I think the third option) three times in a single set of ten I had two exactly the same peices of music (all three times the right answer was duplicated so it was a 50/50 chance to get it right).

I love the setup here, I have a few ear training programs and from what little I've seen so far this is actually superior in some ways.

This isn't ear training related but a site reading game would be nice, having perhaps a virtual keyboard or something for entering answers (and if possible a midi input so someone could use a real keyboard or other midi capable device to enter answers), that could be applied to the rhythm stuff too though I have no idea if flash allows midi i/o.

Future:: And one more
This is REALLY interesting! I don't know WoW myself, I'm a BF2 guy and I've been looking there for ideas on where to go. The problem is that I'm the only developer here, and things take time.

I could easily introduce some system of rewards and badges, but that's not what you're asking for. If for instance levels 6-10 should be closed until you have a full score on levels 1-5 then I'd have to touch the code of the tests, and I've been trying to avoid that.

But I see that some rules about the order in which you have to take tests can make the site more addictive, and it would also help teachers in customizing sessions in a class situation. Working things out may take some time, though.

Thoughts?

Sorry, I haven't touched the actual tests in years. There will be a rewrite at some point in time, but I don't know when.
